Slovenia is sending condolences and financial help to the earthquake struck Haiti

 

New York, 14 January 2010 - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia offered his condolences to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon for the loss of UN peacekeepers in the catastrophic earthquake that struck Haiti on 12 January 2010.

President of the Republic of Slovenia Dr Türk and Foreign Minister Žbogar also expressed their sincere condolences to the President and Foreign Minister of Haiti and to all grieving families of those who lost their lives during this tragic event.

The Government of the Republic of Slovenia immediately allocated 50 000 EUR in aid to Haiti, which was hit by a devastating earthquake on 12 January 2010.
